Almost ready for action! - 13/06/2010

Australia’s Best Children’s Festival - Almost ready for action!!

Performers are packing their bags and making their way from all over Australia to the most spectacular family event in the country.

Bob the Builder is sharpening his tools, Angelina Ballerina has packed her tutu, and Plex the magic robot from Yo Gabba Gabba has his antennae tuned-in, ready for action.

Now in its 12th big year, the multi-award winning festival promises a program so jam-packed visitors won't know where to begin. From Sunday, June 27 to Sunday, July 4, Warrnambool’s city centre will be transformed into a fun-factory, providing a unique opportunity to experience a feast of arts, entertainment, activities and workshops.

On stage will be a truck-load of performances including shows by high energy UK musical clowns The Chipolatas, international street theatre star Bike Boy and Australia’s No.1 P!NK Tribute Show.  Festival first timers include Jay Laga’aia of Playschool & Home & Away fame, the ridiculously silly International Mini Bike Stunt Team and Raw Dance Company’s Bang! Crash! Tap! – dance like you have never experienced before.

Erth’s frighteningly real dinosaur puppets will make a thrilling return to the festival this year to launch the newest addition to their dino family.  Kids will join in the ‘Great Big Build’, enjoy a pamper room (not just for the kids) go rock climbing, make woodwork, try ten pin bowling, laugh along with storytellers and of course meet the baby animals the always popular farmyard.

In an amazing science program Questacon’s Science Squad is coming all the way from Canberra to thrill and amaze. Little scientists will learn how pedal power can generate enough electricity to light a globe (and why the low energy globes need less!) and how playing with a Vandergraph generator can be a hair-raising experience. They will also discover that oil and water don’t mix when they put make their own lava lamps to take home.

Fun4Kids runs from Sunday, June 27 to Sunday 4 July, offering unbeatable school holiday fun.  Tickets are all inclusive – one entry fee & all the fun is free – so its unrivalled family value.
